2016... Done or not?

Woke up a bit earlier than usual, which is a good thing since I need to reset my body clock anyways before going back to work in a few days. Decided to get some Chick-Fil-A breakfast food since this was my first time having it. I had the lunch/dinner food items there a few times, and while not life changing, its pretty good. Had most of the items to try, and it was pretty good. The breakfast burrito was bigger than I expected, and was good too.

Spent most of the day watching the two college football games. The first featured the University of Washington Huskies, which I am an alum. The defense balled out, but the offense didn't perform to the best of their abilities, and lose the game 24-7 to Alabama in the Peach Bowl. Clemson won the other game for the Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State 31-0. So it will be a rematch of the championship game from last year.

Made some pasta for dinner and drank a bottle of wine before settling to watch some anime to ring in the new year. For the most part, I don't caring about it years ago.

One of the main reason I stopped giving much of a fuck about New Year's Eve and New Year's Day is because during my college years, I would have to work during those hours, and hated it. I also don't like the fact that it gives people to act foolish during this time cause they feel like they can, like drink and drive and be an asshole (a few, but most do enjoy having a good time). It is also pretty damn cold too, so I avoid being outside. The last thing I would want to do is to be around a shit ton of people to watch a lame firework display, and also because I feel more comfortable being at home, or being inside with people I actually care for (loved ones and friends). It is also sad to hear about people dying or getting hurt over senseless violence during this moment too.

Overall, while 2016 wasn't the worst year for me, I'm over it and ready to just move on to the next year, 2017, and get on with life. I do plan to have a celebration of the New Year Day with my family, and also watch some more football with the NFL games as well.

Final Friday of 2016

Another day to rest and relax for the most part. I did watch my uncle's kids for a bit while he was out to get a new bed set for his house. I eventually dropped the cousins off and help bring the bed set to the guest room.

After that, picked up my sister at the bus stop and then watch football, and the UFC fight. Ended the night (or planning to anyways) watching some Naruto anime.

Plan to wake up at a decent hour tomorrow morning before the Peach Bowl game featuring my beloved UW Huskies. I hope for a win, or at least a competitive close game. Go Huskies!

Lazy Thursday

Still off work from a few more days. While it is nice to recharge the batteries and enjoy my break from work, it is a 2 week break, so they is only so much you can do when you're off work. I'd been sleeping later at night (mostly do to playing Final Fantasy XV) and waking up later than usual.

Woke up and folded my clothes and tried to clean up the house, which I didn't really get too far in, but its a start. Watched a little TV and then played Final Fantasy XV for pretty much the rest of the day. I'm like 70+ hours into and still haven't beat the game yet, mainly to do mostly sidequests rather than advancing the story. I know people have already beat the game and all that, but I'm going to enjoy the game and take my time.

Only a couple more days until the end of the year 2016. Also got a phone call from my mom about a party on New Year's Day. Hey, it gives me something to do, although I do plan to watch football that day since it is on a Sunday.

Star Wars: Rouge One

Went to watch Star Wars: Rouge One. Went a bit earlier than planned, and was glad to see it. I liked it, and won't give details or spoilers, although by now, many people have seen it, and can tell you about it themselves.

After the movie, spent the rest of the day watching some football, then played video games and ended the night watching some anime. Only a few more days left in 2016.

Random Tuesday Day Off

Not really much to report. Woke up after getting a couple of messages from my friends who are in Hong Kong, so it almost a 12 hour time difference. Anyways, went to my parents house to take out the trash and do my laundry.

After a few hours there, just went to pick up some chips and played video games pretty much the rest of the day.

I did get a package that I almost forgot about, and was unexpected, but it was a pretty cool Seahawks 12th Man package from American Express and Boxed.com. Random, but a cool surprise.

Kwanzaa and Boxing Day

Nice to sleep in, even if it was a bit later than I expected (woke up at 10:45am, after sleeping at 1am the night before). Still a week off from work until I go back after the New Year holiday.

Went to Costco to pick up a few things and watching some TV and played some video games to fill the rest of my day.

Christmas day was nice to hang out with family. Eat, drink, and played some games, as well as watched the games on TV. All in all, a good day. I did get a couple of Starbucks gift cards, even though I don't really drink it, but I had accumulated almost $100 worth of gift cards over the years.

Enjoy the rest of 2016 and looking forward to 2017. And rest in peace to George Michael. Had to bump "Careless Whisper" a few times since I heard of the news.

Holiday Cheer

It's Christmas day and before going over to my uncle's house to spend time with the family, figure I would get started on a New Year's resolution a bit early, since 2017 is coming next week. Watching some NBA basketball and they still going to be some football games as well. I don't expect to get any gifts as I'm old enough to buy them myself. I should save more and set a budget, but that is for another topic at a different time.

Growing up from 8th grade through the end of college, I did regularly spent a moment, usually towards the end of the day to reflect on the moments and events that happened. No much how mundane, or exciting the day was, i would write up something about it. What I liked about it was that it allowed me to be able to reflect and reminisce on significant events in my life, and help out with my memories and cognitive skills. I do plan to start it up again, although it will be done on a digital platform and to reup on my blog site which I have neglected over the past few years.

Enjoy the day with your loved ones and the rest of the year.
