July 20, 2000

On July 20th, 1999, I lost one of my closest friends Heang L Chhuor, and still is the saddest day in my life. The following is from my journal entry a year later, although I made some minor revisions so it makes more sense than what I really wrote down at the time:

Already it's been one year since my life changed forever. Mostly I hung out with my close friends that knew him as well. I chilled at Duke's cribs with everyone else, at played The Game of Life on the Playstation. We then went to the beach where it all went down. To me, I found it pretty boring being there, but it also did bring back bad memories of that ill fated day. We didn't stay long, as we then went to the Quarters Arcade nearby to play some video games. I got hella quarters and played hella games. Around 7, we went to go eat at Chilli's. The food was cool, and we all had a good time being together. I got a gift card cause they messed up on my order or something like that, but I just picked something else and ate that instead, but it was all good. All in all, I know that I got friends that will always be there for me until I'm gone. So Heang, I still and forever will love you, and also miss you. Rest In Peace friend, see you when I get there.
